RARUS Railway's 'The Copper King Express'

On October 1st, 2005, RARUS Railway of Anaconda MT unveiled one of their new passenger cars for 'The Copper King Express' at the Benny Goodman Park. Hauled by engine 301, a model GP7 built in 1953, this freshly painted passenger car, named the 'City of Anaconda', had recently been acquired from a railroad in Canada. It has been re-furbished and fitted with video screens which will relay information about the history of the railroad line. This tourist train will make its first run from Anaconda to Butte in the spring of 2006. Raffle tickets are available, the winner will get to travel on the train next year together with 100 of their family and friends. Tickets are available by writing to Rarus Railway, P.O. Box 1070, Anaconda, MT 59711. The drawing will take place on 3rd November 2005. All proceeds go to the charity "The United Way".
